Program Note

This past summer, my wife and I welcomed our first child, Kinsley, into our lives. Needless to say, we’ve been overjoyed and overwhelmed with this incredible gift, which has changed forever the things I hope for. In a world that’s dominated by fear, misguided by intolerance, and lacking in compassion, one of my most closely held goals as a parent is to teach our daughter how to find and accept love everywhere she goes. The title of this piece comes from a poem by Diane Di Prima called Song for Baby-O Unborn, which expresses this sentiment beautifully.
