Three brief movements written for horn quartet. I wrote Three Miniatures as a DMA student, and it helped me to realize how interested I am in eclectic mixtures in style and aesthetic. The three are linked by a single motive, heard in Horn 1 at the beginning of Movement 2. The first movement is an exploration of different bell tone timbres within the quartet, the second is an off-kilter dance, and the third is a romantic finale.
